The Effect of Stocking Ricefields with Sullage on Anopheline Breeding at Khurda Road

چکیده
The report of a preliminary experiment on the effect of stocking ricefields at Khurda Road with sullage during the dry season, on anopheline breeding, was published in the Indian Medical Gazette (Rao, 1941). As the results were promising, it was considered necessary to repeat the experiment on a large scale, not only to confirm the previous findings, but also to ascertain the effects of this method on the rice crop. It has been recognized that naturalistic methods of malaria control are of particular importance because they have special adaptability to rural areas, where, up to the present time, little or nothing has been accomplished (Hackett et al, 1938). Naturalistic measures are even of

While writing a report on ' The present u of naturalistic measures in the control malariaHackett, Russell, Scharff and Sen* White (1938) found that there was a difference of opinion among themselves as to the effect rotting stubble in water in rice fields after re^F ing. Therefore, Senior White asked all t I malaria inspectors working under him, includi ? the present writer, to select a typical...

The aim of this study was to elevate the effect of stocking density of 20, 25 and 30 fish/m3 on some growth parameters and skin color of Koi fry (Cyprinus carpio) with the mean weight of 1.9 ±0.8 g (±SE) in the concrete ponds, earthen ponds, and fiberglass tanks with the total capacity of 1000 L for 45 days. The highest Final weight (12.38±1.9 g), Final length (10.05±1.06 cm), Body weight incre...

A shrimp Pacific White shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei growth performance study during summer (S) and monsoon (M) was taken up for 120 days. The stocking density was 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 and 80pc/m2 in six different treatments with three replicate. Experiment was conducted in 18 commercial culture pond having 0.5 ha size. The initial average body weight of shrimp post larvae during summer and monsoo...

Two experiments were conducted to evaluate the effect of stocking density on growing-meat quail performance (experiment I) and the effect of dietary crude protein (CP) levels and stocking density on growth performance, nutrient retention, blood metabolites, and carcass weight of growing-meat quails under high ambient temperature (experiment II). Three hundred and eighty male growing-meat quails...
